SenseInsights: Reduce The Indoor Building Energy

Background
SenseInsights is a software technology that can help building owners and managers achieve their goals.
PHYSEE offers SENSE technology that integrates sensors and buildings to save energy. However, building owners and managers require a dashboard to monitor and control visual comfort, thermal comfort, and air quality, as well as generate reports about the building.
Approach
I have been involved in the design process for the SenseInsight demo, which has gone through several iterations. As a brand designer, I created several moodboards and defined the brand for the SenseInsight product because there is no strong brand message before.
I gather the insights about building technology from marketing and sales perspective and translated to the wireframe (see image above). The wireframe is designed because we wanted to test it to the customers and it also helps the visual designers to turned it into a better interface.
I also contributed to the research to understand the building manager, as the end-user, and designed the user experience in the earlier stages (most of the final UI and UX was developed by other teams). Later, I created some additional features (e.g. report visualization), software interactions, and translated it from Figma to a video.
Insights
Based upon the interview, here are some the findings:
Building manager needs to:
- Send the report to their head;
- See the CO2 level difference;
- Regular building inspection;
- Review utilities cost;
- Allocate office space according to needs;
- Perform analysis and forecasting.
Based on the findings, we translated the the Jobs to be Done into some design features.

Creating a SenseInsights interface and demo.
SenseInsights is designed to showcase features that cater to the needs of building managers, leveraging the technology provided by PHYSEE hardware.
Solution
SENSEInsights is a software that enables the Building Owners and Building Managers to view insights on the energy performance of their building. It also shows a data dashboard giving people access to the insight derived from a building datasets with accessible Digital Twin.
Reflection
(and feedback)
I have been a part of the SenseInsights project since day one. Throughout my involvement, I have come to understand that the design decisions were limited due to time and research constraints. Despite these challenges, I have learned to be more adaptable. Additionally, my initiative in analyzing our competitors has proved to be very useful.
Despite the hiccups in the processes, the outcome gain positive feedbacks from the customers.
